Health

Is the general condition of a person in all aspects. It is also a level of functional and or metabolic efficiency of an organism, often implicitly human. As defined by World Health Organization (WHO), it is a "State of complete physical, mental, and social well being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.” Overall health is achieved through a combination of physical, mental, and social well-being, which, together is commonly referred to as the Health Triangle. Health is a dynamic condition resulting from a body's constant adjustment and adaptation in response to stresses and changes in the environment for maintaining an inner equilibrium called homeostasis. Homeostasis employs feedback mechanisms to maintain the dynamic equilibrium of a self-regulating system, similar to the way a tight-rope walker maintains balance on the rope.

Human body's maintenance of its optimum temperature and chemical balance is an example of homeostasis. There is a time when our immune systems find themselves powerless when confronted by new viruses and other pathogens, often causing by misuse of medicines and drugs. We have come to the point where most of us can no longer continue without medicine but still are not in perfect health. In spite of these difficulties, the old dream that we all have is within our reach, as it always has been: the one where we escape illness and gain back our good health that we lost for a while, and learn to preserve it like a precious gift. Our ancestors knew how to do this and transmitted their knowledge, but it often become dilapidated during the times when human being thought they knew everything and looked upon this precious, ancient and ancestral knowledge with scorn. A few of our old methods with known virtues that Mother Nature has placed at our disposal for free are: use of plants with therapeutic value (phytotherapy), use of essential oils (aromatherapy), use of various clay, sun radiation and various method of nutrition.

However, the search into our environment often misleads us and we forget that within ourselves, in the substance of our very nature, there are untapped sources of health, balance, and well being. Our body has a wide range of methods of self healing. But it is important for us to re-educate ourselves because our body is always doing what it can to maintain us in good health. Our body destroys viruses and bacteria, cancerous and abnormal cells, day after day; at the same time it restores vital balance and ensures internal harmony.

We should always remember of the essential points:

  • Our body as well as our mind was our faithful and loyal friend
  • We must have confidences in it
  • Several therapeutic methods consisted in underpinning our body efforts and not fighting against it
